About SadaPay

SadaPay is transforming financial services in Pakistan with a digital-first experience that makes managing money simple, transparent, and hassle-free. With over three-quarters of the population still unbanked, we believe financial services need a radical shift. With SadaPay, all you need is a CNIC, a phone number, and a smartphone to get started; no paperwork, no long waits. Our 2 million users have left behind their worst banking frustrations, no hidden fees, free local transfers, and a payment experience that’s actually enjoyable. Pair that with friendly customer service and a vibrant debit card, and suddenly, finance doesn’t just work, it feels fun! 🚀

Why is this role important?

The cost of producing a screen has collapsed. AI can turn a prompt into a working interface in minutes, which means the scarce skill is no longer pushing pixels, it's judgment: knowing whatʼs worth building, which direction is actually strong, and what to refine versus throw away. We want a designer who works the way the best designers now work, moving fluidly between Figma and the real product instead of stopping at a static mockup. You'll describe an idea, generate a functional version of it against our live design system, and put a working build in front of stakeholders the same day. Your prototypes will render with real navigation, real tokens, and real components, so what you design is what we ship. This is designed with a builderʼs hands. If you have been waiting for permission to drop the handoff document and own the outcome end to end, this is it.

As a Sadanaut you will:

Design by building, not by handing off

  • Take ideas from prompt to coded, interactive prototype, rendered inside the actual app with real components and data, not a static mockup.
  • Use AI coding tools as a creative partner to explore directions fast, then apply a senior designerʼs taste to decide whatʼs worth keeping.
  • Own the parts AI still canʼt do well: motion, micro-interactions, and the difference between something that merely works and something that feels intentional.

Own the craft and the judgment

  • Frame the right problem before solving it: validate the opportunity, decide when a flow even needs to exist, and exercise judgment about where AI belongs in the experience.
  • Set the quality bar by defining clear criteria for what good looks like, including what the system should never generate.
  • Review AI-generated interfaces for coherence, accessibility, and alignment with our product vision, catching drift before it reaches a customer.

Make our design system the source of truth

  • Build and maintain a coded design system, our shared vocabulary of tokens and components, so every prototype starts from the same foundation.
  • Map design components to their code counterparts so designers and engineers are working from one source of truth, not two.

Work where engineering works

  • Ship prototypes through the same review workflow as the team: open a pull request, share a live link, gather feedback in context.
  • Partner closely with engineers and product managers so a strong prototype becomes a shipped product with as little translation loss as possible.

Design for trust

  • Design within our data-residency, security, and regulatory constraints, treating them as part of the problem, not an afterthought.
  • Make complex financial moments, money movement, onboarding, errors, feel safe, clear, and honest.

What it takes to become a Sadanaut:

The Foundation Weʼre Looking For

  • A strong portfolio of shipped product work, with a clear point of view on craft, interaction, and visual quality.
  • Mastery of Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, and building or maintaining a real design system in it.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools as part of your daily practice: generating, exploring, and prototyping with them, not just experimenting on the side.
  • The judgment to evaluate AI output well, telling the difference between acceptable and genuinely well-designed work, and the taste to push for the latter.
  • A strategic instinct for framing problems and choosing directions, not just executing tickets.

Stronger Candidates Will Also Have

  • Experience maintaining a coded design system and mapping design components to code, for example with Figma Code Connect or an equivalent.
  • A working mental model of how modern AI tools behave: how models differ, what a context window is, and how a codebase is structured.
  • Motion and interaction-design chops that go beyond static layouts.

Good to Have

  • Experience designing for mobile at scale, especially Flutter or another cross-platform stack.
  • Prior work in fintech or another regulated, high-trust domain.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
  • A habit of writing things down: design rationale, decisions, and the criteria behind them.

The Mindset Weʼre Looking For

You're a builder, not a job-seeker. Youʼd rather ship a working prototype than present a deck about one. You see AI as leverage for your taste, not a threat to it, and you spend your energy on the decisions only a human can make. You're obsessed with the customer on the other side of the screen, you write things down, and you can own an ambiguous, high-impact problem and turn it into something real. You hold a high bar and you donʼt need someone else to hold it for you.

Perks of being at SadaPay:
