Why is this role important?

As an Analytics Engineer at SadaPay, you will build and own the analytics foundations that leaders and teams rely on weekly. Your work will directly influence decisions across Product, Operations, Growth, Risk, and CX.

You will turn raw, messy transactional data into trusted datasets, define metrics that teams align on, and answer real business questions, not just surface charts.

In addition to building trusted analytics foundations, you will own key dashboards and support teams with ad-hoc analysis and number validation for business and leadership decisions.

If you enjoy working with large datasets, care deeply about data quality, and want accountability for numbers people act on, this role is for you.

What you will own

Within your first few months, you will take ownership of:

  • Core product and transaction metrics used by leadership
  • One or more production DBT models consumed weekly across teams
  • Metric definitions shared across Product, Ops, Growth, and Risk
  • At least one deep-dive analysis per quarter that directly changes a business or product decision
  • Ownership of key dashboards used by leadership and teams, including ongoing iteration and accuracy
  • Ad-hoc analyses to support product launches, experiments, incidents, and executive decisions

As a Sadanaut, you will:

  • Write complex, performant SQL over large, high-volume transactional datasets
  • Build and maintain reusable, production-grade data models using dbt
  • Debug data issues across multiple sources, pipelines, and event streams
  • Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests) where outcomes drive real changes
  • Create and own the self-serve datasets and dashboards that teams trust and reuse in Tableau / Metabase
  • Clearly explain what changed, why it changed, and what should happen next, even to non-technical stakeholders
  • Partner closely with Product, Ops, Growth, and Risk to drive data-backed decisions
  • Handle day-to-day ad-hoc data requests, turning vague questions into clear answers

How we work (Our data standard)

  • SQL is the primary tool; Excel is not
  • Data models are treated like code: versioned, reviewed, and reusable
  • Metrics have clear owners and definitions
  • Context matters more than visuals; charts without insight don’t ship

Tech Stack

  • Data Warehouse: AWS Redshift
  • Transformation: Advanced SQL, dbt
  • Visualization: Tableau, Metabase
  • Analysis: SQL first; Python when needed

(Experience with similar tools is welcome, but this is our current stack.)

What it takes to become a Sadanaut:

  • 2–4 years of experience in analytics, analytics engineering, or BI
  • Strong SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning
  • Experience querying tables with tens or hundreds of millions of rows
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or equivalent transformation workflows
  • Solid understanding of funnels, retention, churn, and unit economics
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong sense of ownership and follow-through

This Role Is Not a Fit If:

  • You rely primarily on Excel or drag-and-drop tools
  • You prefer producing static reports over owning outcomes
  • You’re uncomfortable working with raw or imperfect data
  • You expect engineers to define metrics for you

Perks of being at SadaPay:

  • USD-Denominated Salary: At SadaPay, all salaries are pegged to USD to help protect team members from inflation. If the dollar depreciates against the PKR, you'll always receive a minimum payment equal to your PKR salary.

  • Flexible Leave Policy: We offer a flexible leave policy to support a sustainable work-life balance. We trust our colleagues to manage their work and leave responsibly.
  • Comprehensive Insurance Coverage: Every Sadanaut, regardless of grade, receives Life and Medical Insurance (covering both outpatient and inpatient care), including immediate family and parents.
  • Provident Fund Contributions: Provident fund contributions are provided to all team members to support their financial growth.
